Why did the monster cross the city

Posted on 31-12-2014

Why did the monster cross the city is a school project I worked on for 3 full months. Our team consisted of

  • A designer
  • A interaction designer
  • 2 2D artists
  • 3D modeller/animator
  • Sound designer

and myself, the only programmer. Since this was a special school project, three of our team members were foreigners, hauling from England, Denmark and India. This made up for a diverse team with lots of experience, but very little overlap. Eventually we came togethere and made ‘Why did the monster cross the city’. In this game 4 players control one big monster trying to cross a city, while doing as little damage as possible. It is harder than it seems however, since we’ve created 3 unique controllers to let people control the monster.

More information regarding ‘Why did the monster cross the road’ can be found here

Some sample code from this project:

A script which plays a intro and switches to a 'main' looping part afterwards. It also has 2 separate tracks which will be played instead if the player wins/loses
